Fashion Photographer Los Angeles
When a fashion photographer shoots models, styling is everything. The more time you invest in styling, the better the final image will be. Color palette, overall tonality and accessories help make images come alive, as do wonderful makeup and hair artists. For this image, I envisioned a palette of rusts, browns and beige. The vintage piano provided a perfect prop upon which to pose Los Angeles model Mather Louth, who is a trained art model and is adept at holding poses for long periods of time. I love working with Mather, as her facial features seem reminiscent of another time. The headpiece in this image was custom made by Miss G Designs, while the fur stole was a vintage piece owned by Mather's grandmother. The rust colored dress served as a perfect complement to the flowers in the headpiece. Makeup was provided by the talented Denise Hart Larsen, while Mather did her own hair. This image was lit by free-standing continuous light sources, which suited the vibe I was going for. The delicate hand poses of the model also help infuse this image with a sense of elegance. Photographed in Downtown Los Angeles, California.
