Event photography offers up so many opportunities to learn, as was the case for this Los Angeles event focused on prevention of Alzheimer's disease. Neurologist Dr. David Perlmutter is well known for his bestselling book "Grain Brain," which is focused on the negative role carbs play in brain health. Dr. Perlmutter spoke here alongside Maria Shriver at the Move for Minds event in Los Angeles, which shared techniques geared towards preventing Alzheimer's disease. One of the most difficult challenges associated with capturing engaging speaker shots is making sure that the subject's mid-speaking mouth position is flattering. If the photographer can also capture hand action, the photo itself looks more alive than if the subject's hands were just placed in the lap. Experienced speakers know that moving their hands will help create more audience engagement as well as better photographs.I actually love when I can learn something while I work, and I know that I will always remember some of the great tips that this panel of speakers shared with their audience.
