St Regis Wedding Photographer

The St. Regis in Monarch Beach is a beautiful location to photograph a wedding. It boasts the Grand Lawn, the Pacific Lawn and the Botanical Gardens, so couples have a great choice of ceremony locations. This particular Indian wedding took place on the Pacific Lawn, which is a favorite for weddings because it is slightly more private than the Grand Lawn. This couple were very into nature, and the bride's bouquet, by Shirvan Designs, was made completely out of succulents. At the end of a Hindu wedding, the bride and groom recite commitments to key aspects of married life, while taking seven steps together. Simply, they take a step (or the couple touches their toes to seven betel nuts), then together read a commitment or vow. In some ceremonies, the couple then jointly kicks a small pile of rice. Many priests encourage the couple to really kick the pile of rice, and to make the kick count, so it's always fun when the couple really gets into it, as in this photograph. I loved the lavender draping, as was very flattering when reflecting on the couple's skin, and didn't create unflattering tones (as some colors can).
