Indian Wedding Destination Wedding Photographer

Some Indian weddings are modern while others take on an old-world feel. I was delighted to be chosen to photograph Tara and Raj's Indian wedding at three stunning venues in Udaipur, India. The mendhi and sangeet took place at Shiv Niwas and the City Palace Complex. Their getting ready preparations for the wedding day took place at the Lake Palace, an exclusive floating hotel on Lake Pichola that is only accessible by boat. And their wedding and reception took place on the island of Jag Mandir, which is also only accessible by boat. It was during the getting ready preparations at the Lake Place that I captured this beautiful image. The cinematography team at Memories in Motion had arranged for Rajasthani dancers to assist with the getting ready preparations, as a traditional bride of the past might have done. I loved this shot of their hands holding back the bride's veil (or dupata), and gave the entire image an old-world treatment that gave it a more timeless quality. This bride's actual home is New York, but for this one moment, she looked like an Indian princess from years gone by.
