Ashlee & Eric

Monday, April 30, 2007

Ashlee and Eric were married at The Parker in Palm Springs, a super-cool hotel whose decor is early 70s swank. Though it rained all day Friday, the weather was perfect for their stylish Saturday celebration. Coordinated by Cathy O'Connell at Celebrations of Joy.

Sumbal & Eric

Sumbal and Eric were married at the Copper River Country Club in Fresno. I first met Sumbal when she served as maid of honor for my clients Nita and Chirag. Her sunny personality just makes everyone fall in love with her, so I knew her wedding would be a lot of fun . . . despite the 97-degree heat. I also had the honor of photographing Eric's proposal to Sumbal earlier this year.

India

Wednesday, April 11, 2007

As some of you may know, I visited India for two weeks in January. I left my camera in my hotel room quite a bit of the time, but did pull it out every so often. The images below include the Taj Majal in Agra, the Ardh Kumbh Mela in Allahabad (the largest human gathering in history [with 10 million people during our visit], which happens during the sixth year in the 12-year Kumbh Mela cycle), the dress market in Jaipur, and a few random street scenes from Udaipur and Old Delhi. I could visit India 20 times and still not capture a splinter of its vast and rich landscape. I am grateful to my client Payal Mann for putting me in touch with her uncle, General Manjit Sandhu, who graciously welcomed me into his New Delhi home for dinnner while I was there.

Sumera & Saif

I was very honored to shoot the three-day wedding of Sumera and Saif, which was my very first Muslim wedding. Their familes were very kind to me, and I really enjoyed learning some new cultural traditions. The Sangeet took place in Bell Canyon, the wedding took place in Santa Clarita, and the 450-person reception took place at the Long Beach Hilton.

South Asian Bridal Expo

I recently participated in the South Asian Bridal Expo, produced by Unique Elegance and Ravissant. The event was heavily attended and the fashion show, sponsored by Atirma, was managed by my bride Maneka, whose wedding appears in the "Featured Weddings" section of my web site. Here are a few photos of my booth:
